We maintain
that scientific endeavors should not be insular. In the spirit of
sharing, we offer interested investigators access to
our cutting-edge technology and resources as well as providing
opportunities for education, training, and a forum for
scientific interchange.
The pages connected to this Resource Page describe the
educational and training programming available, detail the
protocols and reagents used by our investigators, provide
information regarding monoclonal antibody production, and
offers access to our qPCR Trancriptome Fingerprinting
Core. |

Resources
Education: CIVIA offers
three educational programs: a Symposium, a Seminar
Series, and a Training Program. These programs serve
to inform Center members, other Cooperative Centers for
Translational Research, and the greater scientific community
of our work, advancements in the field of human immunology,
and expand the application of our technologies.
Protocols: Interested
investigators may access the protocols developed by CIVIA’s Technology
Development Component.
Available are the protocols for purification of cell
populations from human blood and the qPCR protocols for
dendritic cell maturation and T cell activation, including
primers used for each reaction. The procedures for growth of
differentiated human respiratory epithelial cells as well as
detailed procedures for generation of chimeric NDV viruses are
also included.
Reagents: Reagents available
through CIVIA include chimeric NDV and vaccinia viruses,
expression plasmids, and virus specific monoclonal
antibodies.
Antibodies: The Hybridoma
Center, a
shared resource facility operated through the Mount Sinai
School of Medicine Department of Microbiology, provides a
complete hybridoma development program designed to produce
hybridoma cell lines that secrete monoclonal antibodies
specific to your antigen.
qPCR
Transcriptome Fingerprinting: This core facility
provides free assays for up to 30 target transcripts in
triplicate (100 total samples) to Centers funded under the
NIAD program: “Cooperative Centers for Translational Research
on Human Immunology and Biodefense.” Additional assays are
offered to these Centers at
cost. |
